This is a 4-week Club.

During the month of October, all Epic Adventure Book Club participants will read The Green Ember. For the first four Tuesdays, participants will come together over Zoom and discuss pre-planned themes, thoughts, and activities.

What is The Green Ember? Great question!

The Green Ember follows Heather and Picket, two young rabbit siblings, as they race to escape a pack of wolves who have just burned their home and captured their family. Through a series of twists and turns Heather and Picket elude the wolves and arrive at a hidden outpost, Cloud Mountain, where they learn their lives are caught up in a much larger, more dangerous story. It is a story where their gifts are needed and their character matters.

Ages: Geared toward 4th – 6thgrade, but all who like adventures and reading are welcome to attend

Dates: Tuesdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24

Times: 3:00 to 4:00pm

Materials: All participants will receive The Green Ember book and weekly materials.

Expectations: Participants are expected to read 1/4 of the book each week. That sounds like a lot, but the book is a page-turner! Participants are expected to complete the assignments and participate in the group discussion.

This Book Club is the creation of Levi Buchholz, a 5th grader in WISE. He will be learning how to host this Book Club and eventually take over moderating it.
